Blue Souq

I love my sister-in-law being here because (1) she loves to blog and (2) she is a really good writer.  As a result, my blog gets updated quite frequently.  Check out our latest adventure http://www.jrobfamily.blogspot.com/

Visitors

My sister-in-law arrives in just a few hours.  She is coming with my nieces and their, babysitter Kiley.  They've been in India for 9 days and now they are headed to Dubai.  This trip has been planned since we moved here and is now finally here.  There are so many activities from which to choose when you live in a touristy city.  We are going to the Burj Khalifa, Ski Dubai, beach, little league baseball games, Sophie's 3rd birthday party, dhow cruise through the Marina, bus tour, shopping, the pool, and maybe even a waterpark.  Needless to say my 3 little muffins are beyond excited and can't wait to show their family our life here.

Sophia

Look at my muffin #3.  Isn't she the cutest?!?!?!?  Before you wonder why my silly child isn't smiling, let me tell you the conversations her teacher and I had with her.  Sophie knew it was picture day because we began preparations several days in advance.  We went shopping for a new outfit and we practiced smiling.  I said to her, "Sophie, show me your smile for picture day."  She would then give me a cute smile with her nose wrinkled.  Her teacher also talked about big smiles before the class took pictures.  She told her precious 2 year olds to smile.  Well, Sophia didn't follow directions, but I still love her pictures.

Sophie and Andy

Andy:  What kind of cereal do you want?
Sophie:  Sissy's cereal.  It's my favorite.
Andy:  Oh, is it?
Sophie:  You happy?
Andy:  Yes.
Sophie:  (Hugging Andy's leg)  You my favorite.

Isn't that so sweet?  Sophie uses the question, "Are you happy?" all the time.  She really likes to ask that question when she's done something wrong and about to get in trouble as a way to deflect the situation.  "It's my favorite" and "beautiful" are other of the moment favorite words.  She is a charmer, snuggler, and vey lovable almost 3 year old!

Are You Happy?

Sophie's dinner time conversation.

Setting:  Dinner table.  Sophie's chair and surrounding area is very messy from a taco.  Sophie is wiping sour cream on the underside of the table.

Characters:  Sophie (cheerful mood).  Mom (very cranky mood).

Mom:  Sophie, stop that.
Sophie: (smiling) Are you happy?
Mom:  No
Sophie:  Daddy happy?
Mom:  No
Sophie:  Am I happy?
Mom:  No
Sophie:  Boston happy?
Mom:  No
Sophie:  Sissy happy?
Mom:  No
Sophie:  Nobody happy?!?!

Of course I couldn't contain my smile and laughter any longer.
