The Joys of Dubai

Here are some random questions:

Why does the pipe from the washing machine not fit the pipe in the wall? Shouldn't this be standard?

Why does the plug on the washing machine not fit the outlet closest to the pipe? Shouldn't plugs be standard as well? I believe I can buy 2 different types of plugs here, but then I have to buy adapters for those items. Wouldn't it be easier for them to have only 1 plug and the matching outlet?

Why does the water leak in the upstairs bathroom dry up by itself? Why are water leaks following me here?!?!?!

Why does the air conditioner not work in a new house?

Why do I have to ask the just right question to understand something? Why don't salespeople tell me everything I need to know?

Why do I get so confused and turned around in roundabouts???????????

These are some of the questions I've experienced the past few days. Other than these minor inconviences, things are going pretty well. The kids have swam everyday, a landscaper that does very nice work showed up at our house today, I have all the appliances except the dryer, and the kids are adjusting to the time zone. They still wake up in the middle of the night, but they are getting better about going back to sleep.

I also survived taking the kids to breakfast, going to the grocery store, speaking with the management company, and getting a taxi (the concierge whistled for the taxi!) all by myself. I did get upset about the house not cooling, the leak in the bathroom, the washing machine not fitting properly, and the dryer not being delivered. I called Andy's cell a million times before trying his work number. He came to the rescue (my emotional rescue)!! But the problems still aren't solved! We'll tackle those tomorrow.
